Field Trip

Don’t forget about our field trip!  We will be leaving the school at 9am.  Parents must provide their own transportation and must pay at the Planetarium upon arrival.  Students MUST ride the bus to and from the Planetarium.

Tragedy

I am saddened to write that we have a student in our classroom that has suffered great tragedy.  Her home was lost in a fire and she has lost 2 sisters.  Our school is pulling together to collect money and other items to donate to the family.  For the next 2 weeks we will be having a “dollars of care” fundraiser for the Chesnut family.  At the end of the 2 weeks, the items and money will be given to the family.  If you feel compelled to donate money or items, please feel free to drop off items/money at Eastside Elementary.  As soon as I get the sizes of family members, I will post them on this blog.  Thank you for your prayers and donations.

Funeral services have been set for the 2 young girls. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30pm at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, (Winchester) with Rev. Keith Mitchell officiating.  Visitation will  be Monday from 10:30am until 1pm at the funeral home.
