Students enrolled in the following courses will take the End of Course test, as mandated by the state:
US History – April 24, 2012
English 10- April 25, 2012
Algebra II – April 26, 2012
Biology – April 27, 2012
Students are expected to be in attendance on the day he/she will test. They are encouraged to get a good night’s rest and eat a good breakfast!
The score the student receives will count for 10% of their final grade in that course.
Seniors who did not meet the ACT benchmark on English, math and reading will be taking the COMPASS test April 2-7 at HCHS. Meeting the benchmarks on the COMPASS test, will indicate growth has happened in those areas and most colleges will take the COMPASS score. This will be evidence students need to demonstrate that they do not need to be in a remedial course in their freshmen year of college.
Juniors who did not take the ACT on March 8 MUST take the ACT on March 20th. This test is extremely important – meeting benchmarks in English, math and reading will exempt students from being enrolled in a CCR course the senior year.
English benchmark – 18

Take a look at the Compass Test – this will be administered to all seniors graduating in 2011 from HCHS. Beginning with the 2011-12 school year, seniors who do not meet benchmarks on the ACT their junior year, will be expected to show college and career readiness. One way to show that progress is taking the COMPASS Test.
