Wednesday- Students recieve Geography project. They select a country to research and complete a poster/power point presentation over. Begin Unit Opener over Europe

Thursday- Students finished Unit Opener, began key terms over Europe.

Friday- Discuss Unit Opener, Finish key terms, Europe Culture Video (20:00)

Monday- Students completed the Unit 1 Study Guide, last day to turn in a signed progress report from parent/guardian.

Tuesday- Students completed Unit 1 Exam /Constructed response over acculturation, diffusion, and innovation.

Wednesday- Students started the Unit 2 Opener (Canada/United States)

Thursday- We discussed the Unit 2 Opener as a class/State/Capital Review Game

Friday- State/Capital Quiz- Begin 5.1

Week of January 23rd-January 27th

This week we are discussing Geography (Chapter 4).

Monday- Finished discussing two articles about culture (Marriage or Else & Growing Up Digital). Students completed a bellringer where we reviewed the key terms innovation, diffusion, and acculturation and gave examples for each term.

Tuesday- Students will take a Religion IQ quiz found in Upfront Magazine and will begin to fill out a Graphic Organizer over Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. -Students recieve grade reports

Wednesday- Finish Religion Organizer/ Students will start creating a religion collage (1 main portrait, 3 small pictures, 5 key words)-students will pick from 5 major religions.

Thursday- Finish Collage/ Discuss population geography (notes)

Friday- States and Capital Quiz -Finish Chapter 4

Week of January 2nd-6th

January 5th, 2012

This week students learned about important Supreme Court decisions and started our unit over Economics.

-Students answered questions over the article "10 Supreme Court Cases Every Teen Should Know".

- Wednesday/Thursday- Students completed a group activity where they rotated around the room and learned the facts, issues, and Supreme Court rulings on the following cases: Brown v Board, Plessy v Ferguson, United States v Nixon, Tinker v Des Moines, New Jersey v TLO, Marbury v Madison, Miranda v Arizona, and Roe v Wade.
