This week the students will be taking the KPREP test.  The schedule is as follows:

Monday – Reading  _  Part A/B

Tuesday – Reading  -  Part C

Wednesday – Math  -  Part A/B

Thursday – Math  -  Part  C

Friday – On Demand Writing

Monday in the afternoon, and after testing,  the students will return their library books to the library.  All library book are due to be turned in by Friday.

We will continue to review concepts covered this year in order to prepare for testing.

Monday – Library day

Mon.-Fri.  – Book Fair is set up in the library.  Students can bring money and buy books through Friday.

Friday – Last school dance for this year.

Mrs. Howard will be reviewing the concepts covered from the first nine weeks through the third nine weeks.

Wednesday – Quiz

Mid-terms go home this week.

Thursday – Reading from the class novel, identifing literary elements and devices.

Friday – Homework due. Reading from leveled booklets with quetions.

Tues. -  Fri.  -  Mrs. Howard will be reviewing the literary elements, sequencing, main idea and fact/opinions with the students this week.

After analying the previous 9 weeks test I found that students needed to review author’s point of view and author’s purpose.

We will be working on these concepts as well as main idea, supporting details, characterization and inferencing.

Next Mon. is Library Day

Monday – Library Day  and report cards go home.

Tues-Thurs. – Review concepts that students are have trouble with. Many can find the main idea but have trouble finding supporting details. We will review sequencing, inferencing, and summarzing.

Monday – picture day

Tuesday – Compare student responses to correct responses on Discovery Education Assessment.

Wed. – Thurs – Focus on items missed on the test and review.

Friday – No school.

Students will review this week all the concepts covered for the nine weeks.

One day this week  will be used to enter test responses onto the computer form of the DEA Test.

Students will prepare for the end of the nine weeks test to be completed next week.

Monday – No school — President’s Day

Tues. - Wed. – We will begin reading true stories from the Steck-Vaughn Publication.  These engaging stories deal with explorations, survivals, tragedies, and natural phenomena from particular geographic regions.

Thurs. – Fri. –  Students will complete the Discovery Education Assessment Test C.  They will complete the paper copy then put their answers onto the computer.

Monday we started the week with vocabulary paractice.

Tuesday- no school due to snow

Wednesday the students will take a bell ringer quiz over bell ringer work from the past 2 weeks.

Thursday and Friday we will work on answering sample constructed responses, and view what a score of 4 looks like.
