Dress for Gatti – Town:
Jeans without holes etc. Band t-shirt or harrison county t-shirt. If you haven’t got either, you must wear a dress code shirt. Make sure your jeans are in good shape and within dress code and have a belt on.
We are leaving town at 8:15AM Parents can follow us or meet us up there.
Mr. McIntire is working on our schedule. Please get your information to me if you would like to be in band next year.
6th Grade is the only time you can join band so you must do it this year.

Monday May 21 Turn in your school owned instruments. Students not going on in band will need to bring their rent to own in to turn in. I will send them back to the company. Personally owned instruments will need to stay at home.

We will begin studying Timbre this week. I plan to review all instruments and their families. This should take us to the end of the year. Hang in there it is almost here!!!!

Test Thursday over the Bass and Treble Clefs. We have been working for two weeks on Melody. This will be a unit test.
I plan to review with Jeopardy on Wednesday and grade our last treble and bass clef work. Please speak to me if you have any questions about the work or the test.
We will focus on music history for the rest of the year. I hope to get through the classical and on up to present day. Study for your test!!!!

Practice Journals: We will only have three journals for this nine weeks. The first is due on April 27. The next two are May 4th and 11th. These three will be our last for the year. I want students to continue to practice so that our concert sounds great!!!!
Gatti – Town trip is May 15th, 2012. We will be gone from 8:30-2:30. The 15.00 dollars with checks made out to HCMS are due ASAP!!!!! Please get your permission slip and money in as soon as you can.
Parent chaperoning will need to pay separate. Their checks will be made to Gatti-town for 15.00 to play and eat or 5.00 just to eat. Under school age children may accompany the parent or grandparent but no student in school or above school age can come.
School owned instruments must be checked in to Mrs. Lucky by May 17, 2012 in order to be a part of our end of the year activities. Please makes sure they are in the band room not later than the 17th.
I look forward to having my new 7th and 8th graders but will miss my students moving to the high school. I am proud of you and wish you nothing but happiness. Lets make our last few weeks at HCMS the best!!!!!!
