We will continue our review for the state K-PREP test that starts the week of May 7. Students will be reviewing by selecting: the appropriate meaning for a word that has multiple meanings. DOK 2; will interpret literal and non-literal meanings of words or phrases, based on context; will locate key ideas or information in a passage, make predictions, draw conclusions, make generalizations or make inferences based on what is read. Today, we will go to the library and choose a Reading Counts book to read independently.
Tuesday, we will focus on how to answer short-answer response questions given on Think Link Test.
Wednesday and Thursday will be spent reviewing narrative essays with reading strategies and tips on finding the correct answers for identifying author’s purpose, identifying the genre, drawing conclusion, making inferences, identifying details, generalizations, fact and opinion and using context clues.
