Welcome to Southside Elementary!  We are excited to begin a new school year!  This year our theme is "Mavericks are on the Move!"  We look forward to a year filled with the adventure of learning.

Summer Office hours are 7 am to 2pm.  Office closed 6/20 – 7/4.

Have you ever wondered about who is in the PTO?  Well, as a parent, YOU are! 

What does this have to do with you?   Every year, the PTO needs members willing to be on the Executive Board – a fancy name for the leadership. We need you to join with us to come up with new ideas and ways to improve!  Please consider serving as a PTO officer.  If you are interested, please sign up in the school office by May 20.  The election will be conducted On May 26 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Stop by the Southside Office and cast your vote!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  SOUTHSIDE SITE BASED COUNCIL PARENT ELECTIONS  The Southside School Council Parent Elections will take place Thursday, May 26, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  The elections will take place in the school office. The purpose of the election is to elect two parent representatives to serve on the council for the 2011-12 school term:  July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012. A nomination form is available at the school office.  It contains the qualifications as defined by the law and our local board policy.  Nominations shall be made in writing and submitted to the principal no later than May 20.   Election of parent members to the council shall be by a majority of the voting qualified parents/guardians.  By law, qualified persons are defined as: parents/guardians who are members of the parent-teacher organization, they may vote to elect the parent council members.  For membership information and/or questions about the election, contact Southside Elementary School at 234-7120.
