It is so hard to believe it is May already!! I’m not sure where the time has gone.

With the end of school near, the students are a bit restless to say the least. Please remind your child each day that rules still need to be followed and any work that is assigned needs to be completed.

I hope everyone had a good spring break.

Tonight’s Homework:

Spelling: pg. 97– the pages are stapled out of order. Your child should have written the day at the top of each page. Look at your child’s assignment sheet if you are unsure.

Reading: Read 20 min. Read RC Book

Math: 88B and Fact Practice

*This week we will not be using our big reading book. We will be reading Easter/rabbit/egg stories and completing activities with these books.
*We will have a spelling list and spelling homework each night. Check your child’s assignment sheet for each night’s spelling homework. The test will be on Friday.
*We are having an Easter Party on Thursday, April 5 at 2:00pm. We will be having pizza. Our Room Leader will be contacting you if anything else is needed. We are having an egg hunt. If possible please send in 12 plastic eggs with candy that is individually wrapped. Make sure the eggs will stay closed. You may have to tape them shut. I would like all eggs here by Wednesday so I can see how many we have. I chose this day for the egg hunt and party hoping to avoid other classes who may be having an egg hunt also. In the event of bad weather we will just divide the eggs among the students instead of having the actual hunt.

Math: Practice Math Facts- no practice WS

This week we will be working on writing a memoir. We will not have spelling homework or spelling test. We are also not reading a story in the book this week due to it being a short week with Battle of the Books on Thursday morning and no school Friday. Math homework will continue as usual.

Yearbook orders are due February 27th.

If you are paying for the field trip in 2 payments the first payment is due March 1st.

We WILL be in school on March 5th. This was scheduled as a teacher work day, but we are using it to make up a snow day.

Reminder: There is NO school Monday– in observance of President’s Day. Enjoy the long weekend.

Mid-terms will come home on Thursday, February 2nd.

February is already here! We will be having a Valentine’s Day Party on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm. During this time the students will be having ice cream and will open Valentine cards.
A list of all of the students in our class will be sent home. Your child needs to have a Valentine for each student in the class. You do not need to make a container for your child’s Valentines. We will be making something here at school.
If you are needed to send anything in for the party, then our room mother will contact you. Please do not send in anything except for what has been asked. Treat bags are fine. Thank you!
