The End of School is Near!

by admin

We have almost made it to the end of the school year.  My speech and language students have been working so hard.  I am proud of all of you!  Therapy is winding down for the year.  We will finish the school year with some parties to celebrate our successes and talking about the things we want to work on over the summer.  Parents take a little time each week to work on those sounds, answer questions during story time, or find activities that will help with following directions.  Have fun and keep practicing.  Thank you for the hard work during the school year.  I will miss my students this summer!

Practice! Practice! Practice!

I hope everyone had a great spring break.  My students have been working hard this week on their speech and language schools.  As we are nearing the end of school, it is very important that we keep a positive attitude and keep working hard.  I have seen so much hard work at school and am very proud of the progress my students are making.  This week and next we will be focusing on all the fun things associated with Spring.  So far we have made kites and been learning about picnics and we will continue with bugs and butterflies next week.  Enjoy the weather!

Spring Break Is Coming Soon!

by admin

I can’t believe it is already time for spring break.  This week in speech we will have lots of fun Easter and Spring activities to help us practice our speech and language goals.  I want to encourage all of my students to remember to practice their speech sounds and work on their language goals over the break.  A little bit of practice each day will make a big difference.  Have a great week!

Spring Is Here!

by admin

The warm weather is here. I know everyone is ready to go outside and play. However, that doesn’t mean we should forget about our speech and language goals. As the end of the school year approaches, we should be working harder than ever. I am proud of the way my students are working and improving when they come to speech. It is easy to fit in your practice time a few minutes each day: in the car, story time before bed, chore time (following directions), or learning games with the family. The next few weeks will be filled with activities to celebrate spring and the upcoming holiday.

St. Patrick’s Day

by admin

Welcome warm weather!   This has been a great week to get outside and enjoy the beautiful days.  In speech this week we have been practicing our sounds, following directions, and improving our vocabulary while we play some St. Patrick’s Day activities and games.  I am very proud of my students.  I am seeing lots of progress.  Keep working hard on those speech goals.  In the next few weeks, we will be focusing on spring and Easter.

Warm weather in February?

by admin

It is hard to believe it is almost 60 degrees in February.  I am starting to think that Spring is on its way.  I am glad to be back from the KSHA conference and have some new things to try with my students.  It is always nice to spend time with Speech Pathologists from Harrison County and other schools across Kentucky to swap ideas.  My students are working hard on their goals.  There are only about 3 months left until school is out, so keep practicing!!

February Brings the Cold Weather

by admin

Valentine’s Day is already here.  Time really does fly.  Today and tomorrow we will be celebrating with activities, games, and treats.  I will be in Lousiville on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at the annual Kentucky Speech Language and Hearing Association annual conference.  I will bring back new ideas and activities to share with all of my students next week.  Keep practicing your sounds and working on those language goals.  If the cold weather keeps you inside, pick up a good book and enjoy!

Snow is Here!

by admin

I am glad to be back at school.  I can’t believe it is already 2012.  I had a wonderful, but busy vacation and enjoyed the time with my family.  I hope all of my students had a great break, too.  I can’t believe we have already had a snow day.  It is time to get back to work on all of our speech and language goals.  In honor of the cold weather, for the next couple of weeks we will be doing some winter and cold weather activities, as we practice our sounds, follow directions, and build vocabulary skills.  Keep practicing at home!

December is Here!

by admin

I can’t believe it is already December 1st.  The holiday season is here.  For the the next 2 weeks we will be doing some winter and holiday activities/crafts to practice our speech and language goals.  Kids-look for a special treat the week we get out for Christmas vacation.  I want to remind all of my students to keep practicing your sounds.  I have seen lots of progress so far and this is all due to practice and hard work!
