As a graduate of Harrison County Schools who is now an employee. I can say that as a student Harrison County Schools molded me into the person I am today.

My teachers who are now my coworkers are friends to me and have always wished me nothing but the best. For a rural district, our district attempts to give our students as many advantages in STEAM, Leadership and the Arts. I am proud to not only be a graduate but an employee of this district as well. I have a wonderful team of coworkers, who will work to their utmost ability to ensure student success as well as staff. I feel as though I am part of a team that is geared toward success.

This place is such a huge part of who I am and who I will become. My teachers have always challenged me, inspired me, and encouraged me. Because of the support I found here in Harrison County, I was able to achieve my dream of studying engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this fall.

Growing up I was a small town kid with big city dreams, but not sure how I would chase those dreams.  The education and opportunities I was allowed to experience through my time with the Harrison Co. School system truly gave me the foundation and the road map to allow me to begin the pursuit of chasing the dreams I held so very true.

Education is a golden ticket, one that allows you the opportunity to create your own path and HC schools gave me that ticket and so much more.  I always say it took a village to get Amber Philpott where she is today, there were countless mentors, teachers and just amazing people in my life who always encouraged, inspired, pushed and truly believed in me and for that I will always be grateful to every single person in Harrison Co.
